Kevin Sinnott

Born in Sarn, Bridgend, Kevin Sinnott trained at Cardiff College of Art & Design and at the Royal College of Art, London. After his studies, he remained in London and established a very successful career and artistic reputation by exhibiting at leading London galleries, such as Anne Berthoud and Angela Flowers, as well as many prestigious international galleries. Kevin's work has been acquired by major collections, including Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Royal College of Art, London, and The British Museum. He was elected to the Royal Cambrian Academy in 2007.

Kevin's canvas, ‘Running Away with the Hairdresser’ has become an iconic painting, acquired by the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff. Signed prints of this piece are available from Oriel Mimosa.

Kevin's inspiration comes from the immediate environment of his hometown, a place to which he returned in 1995 and where he now manages his own gallery. Kevin's paintings deal with memory, emotion and experience rather than specific events, often displaying strong influences of the South Wales landscapes that have shaped and defined his character.
