David Tress was born in London in 1955, showing an early interest in painting and drawing. He studied first at Harrow College of Art and later at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham. David moved to West Wales in 1976 and it is this landscape that forms the subject of many of his paintings, he has become particularly well known for his interpretations of landscapes in and around his home in Pembrokeshire. He has exhibited in many countries including the UK, France, Holland and America and has works in many public collections. He has also received the Glyndwr award in 2013 for outstanding contribution to the arts in Wales.
