Chantel Ridley - I want my artwork to speak of my experience of landscape. Whether it be home or away, the stories of lives lived echo through the environment, leaving behind faint traces of narrative.

 

Through mark making, textures and arresting compositions, I use mixed media to build more abstracted, organic rhythms and patterns of light and colour. Here I attempt to tell the stories that capture my imagination.

 

I am a self taught artist who lives and works in Pemrokeshire, predisposing me to a love of coast, sea and sky. Old harbours and peeling boats, cottages and countryside invoke my need to paint.
