Born and brought up in Port Talbot, Bert Evans attended Newport Art College from 1967 – 1972, providing him with a solid foundation and understanding of colour theory and composition and allowed him to develop his bold, figurative approach to painting. Bert had a short period of experimentation with his work, weaving words and phrases into the paint surface, sometimes sunken beneath the paint or floating under a thin film of colour. He has now returned to the style for which he is so well known, producing a new set of Llandeilo originals for Oriel Mimosa. These 'moments caught' are to be enjoyed with no time restrictions.
