John Knapp Fisher

John Knapp Fisher was born in London in 1931, spending his early years painting alongside his father who was Professor of Architecture at the Royal College of Art. He went on to study graphic design and typography at Maidstone College of Art and worked as an exhibition designer in London, moving on to set designing for a couple of theatres. When he moved to Carmarthenshire in Wales John opened his studio gallery in Croesgoch in 1967, and has exhibited throughout Britain and abroad. In 1992 he was elected a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy. He has released books about his life and paintings, including ‘John Knapp-Fisher’s Pembrokeshire’. John died in February 2015, aged 83.
