James Anthony grew up in a small mining community in the Rhondda Valleys. As a lad he spent hours roaming the mountains and was fascinated by the collieries dotted all around him. He has drawn or painted for most of his life, finding this an easy way to express himself. He paints with oil on canvas and occasionally board, using only Winsor & Newton™ oils.
